Consider this - be taken back nearly 150 years ago as set yourself
among ... The rustic tin shed, one of the first original
buildings in Cowra constructed in 1849. Against the backdrop of this
old rustic tin shed hear the cries of convicts and the joys of Lucky
as you immerse yourself through the Windows of
Australian History. This tour is for all ages and each and
every person will have an
opportunity to interact with characters from the Colonial time span,
gold rush, Bushranger era and more.
Along the way meet the Town Crier (the bellman) of Sydney Town Samuel Potter, and take
a trip back to the Colonial days of 1806. Become acquainted
with the young drummer boy, but don't let your eyes off your wallet and
experience the sheer awkwardness of being next to a
convict wench or maybe a Lady from the Colony of New South Wales.
If your brave enough, take part in the Convict Wedding or become
involved in the Story of the Girl who wears the Black Velvet Band.
BE CAREFUL though, being caught as a member of The Black Velvet Band is punishable by hanging.
Keep your eyes opened as
you become witness to the Raising of the King's Colours and don't fret from the Colonial Justice
System or crime and punishment in the Colony will be severe.
As an added experience
relive the food of the Colonial Days with the opportunity to enjoy tea
and damper just as it was served on the days of early Colony. And
if you would prefer to keep your experience as a memento for a small
fee, have a signed personalised autograph postcard of your famous or
most-hated character.
